Gelato and the Italian Culture
In Italy, gelato is more than just ice cream it’s a way of life. With over 20,000 gelaterias scattered throughout the country, these delectable eateries can be found on most every neighborhood street corner. Gelaterias offer Italians a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the finer things in life. They are a place to gather to connect with family and friends. The daily stroll to the local gelateria is a quintessential part of Italian life.
The Authentic Italian Experience
Steve Sherwood opened the doors of his first Gelato Paradiso store in 1999, in Newport Beach, California, with the dream of sharing a taste of this wonderful and genuine part of Italian culture with his friends in Southern California.
Since then, Southern Californians haven’t been able to get enough of the sumptuously rich and delicious gelatos and sorbettos that Gelato Paradiso has to offer. To keep up with this high demand, Gelato Paradiso has since opened three more stores including Laguna Beach and most recently in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point, California.
At Gelato Paradiso, our gelatos and sorbettos are made in the authentic Italian tradition, using only the freshest, purest ingredients, imported directly from Italy. Blended with care at precise temperatures, using time-honored, artisan techniques, our gelato is sublimely rich and flavorful, yet is much lower in fat, cholesterol, and calories than traditional American ice cream. Our gelatos and sorbettos are hand-crafted each morning by skilled artisans in small batches, ensuring freshness and quality that is unsurpassed, and seldom equaled anywhere outside of Italy itself.
So, come pamper yourself, and taste a bit of the sweet life! Once you do, enjoying our gelato will become a part of your everyday life – just as it has been with Italians for thousands of years. Prego!!
